It's Just Another Manic Monday But With A Give Away

Well, it's Monday again. How can that be possible? Is it just me, or does it feel like it was just Friday? Oh well, regardless of how I feel, it's Monday. How were your weekends? Mine was completely uneventful. Completely. For example, I was in bed and asleep at 8:00 Friday night. Yes, you read that correctly, and no, that is not a typo. What can I say, I'm a party animal. That's not the worst of it, though. The worst is that I slept until 9:00 Saturday morning! Could I be any more lazy? On second thought, please don't answer that. The rest of my weekend was equally uneventful, with the exception of Kelly's wonderful news, of course!! Congratulations again, girlfriend! I am so happy for you!

And, now it's Monday. And, I sit here at my desk, wondering again what to blog about. I don't know if I've thanked you all for reading my blog, but in case I haven't told you how much I appreciate each of you, please know that I do. I know that at my best, my posts won't be winning me a Pulitzer anytime soon, and I know that recently they have been even less interesting. In way of an explanation, I am going through some things right now, spiritually speaking, that I am struggling with. I just don't feel that I am at a point where I can communicate about them with any type of coherency. I'm struggling through, though, and if and when I do have words, I will share them with you. So, thank you for hanging in there with me! I love you all!

Now, about that give away. If you've made it this far, I have a little treat for you. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get any skincare ideas from you. I mean, I know ya'll wash your faces, right? So, I thought I would bribe you. Yes, I did say bribe. But, really you could consider it the first official give away on my blog. And, since there are only a handful of you who read this thing, you have a pretty good shot at winning the giveaway.

So here are the rules. In order to enter the giveaway, you must leave me a comment, telling me your favorite skincare product. And, girls, it does not have to be anything fancy or expensive. Cetaphil rocks our world. We always have a bottle of it on hand. And, my great, great aunt Ethel had some of the best skin ever, and she always attributed it to washing her face with Lava soap. You know, that green, gritty soap men use after they get all dirty working on stuff. It worked for her, seriously. Anyway, my point is that it can be anything, but it must be something that works for you. And, if you win, you will get your choice, based on skin type, of course, of one of the following skin care travel kits from boscia. (courtesy of yours truly)

Each comes with a cleanser, tonic, day moisturizer, and night moisturizer. So what are you waiting for? Leave me a comment and get entered. I'll accept comments up through 11:59 p.m. CST on Thursday, June 26th. And, I will use one of those random thingies (how's that for technical) to pick a winner Friday morning. Oh, and George, don't even think about it buddy. You're not eligible. This is for us girls only.

I've only been gone a month and you've graduated to give aways!? I'm very impressed. I HATE to wash my face. I hate to wash my face so much that I bought a $300 skin care system that's supposed to get rid of sun spots, etc and stopped using it after 1 month. It's been sitting in my bathroom drawer for a yr now. Not even spending an amazing amount of money can make me do it! Can I get credit for trying though? The system is called Visage. Have you heard of it? (btw-email me...my address book died)Love you!

Honestly, my new favorite face wash is Johnson's Baby Wash. Yep, that's right. My mom told me about it. She heard about it from a friend who heard about it from their dermatologist. It's great! Great as an eye make-up remover, too, because it is tear-free. Just don't buy the generic, Target brand...it has a different smell then the real brand. Made that mistake last week. Live and learn, I guess.

Since I was in high school, I have used cheap 'ole neutrogena face bar. Oh yes, I have tried others, big fancy others, but alas, only to return to neutrogena baby!! Best $3 ever spent! ha!ha!

I wish I could join the ranks of cheap skin care, but over the years it seems Proactiv is the only thing I can count on. What a fun giveaway! I will be checking back for some good suggestions!

I use Murad skin care for acne. I have battled acne issues most of my life and several years ago I found a wonderful a esthetician...I call her the "acne whisperer"...and she put me on Murad. It's changed my life! I think the once a month facials don't hurt, either! Murad is a little pricey, but you only have to use a small amount and I only have to restock 2x per year. It's a wonderful skin-care line.

Hi Heather!! I want to play! I think Neutrogena products are great! I just use basic stuff that's not too expensive.

Hi! What a fun give-a-way! I usually use Dove's Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser. It is inexpensive, and it works great! Although, when I have the extra money, I love to buy Clinique's 3-Step skin care!

Thanks for the opportunity. I found you from Kelly's blog. I have psoriasis and have a hard time finding things to use that don't irritate the psoriasis. Maybe I'll get to try this!

I found your site through Kelly's and have had fun catching up. I use Neutrogena Deep Clean...it is awesome! Wal-Mart has an Equate version of it that is just as good. Give it a try!

Hi Heather,

I clicked over here from Kelly's blog.

I must say that I love Arbonne stuff, but find it a bit cost prohibitive, so I buy Neutrogena. My fave thing right now is Neutogena moisturizer with sunscreen. In the summer, I don't wear makeup, but I have to moisturize like crazy and protect my skin because the air here is d-r-y and the sun is fierce!

I love Philosophy's Hope in a Jar! They just came out with one that has SPF in it. My skin feels so good after putting it on in the morning! Protect your skin ladies!

Fun giveaway. I use the Mary Kay line and especially love the eye cream.

My dermatologist has me use Purpose soap. I use the liquid form and love it.

Eucerin is the stuff in our house!!!

I used Proactiv forever - and then somebody told me that Neutrogena works just as well. Proactiv was starting to get expensive so I tried the Neutrogena and it really works! I love it!

Well I love Mary Kay, but I had used it for so long that I began to feel like it wasn't gettin gmy face completely clean. So, now I use Este Lauder Perfectly Clean as my basic cleanser, then the HydraBright mouistureizer. i really like it!

MEGAN said...

I use Arbonne, their not-so-basic skin care line! I love it.

Julie said...

Okay dokey!!! I'm entering but don't make fun of me!!! :). I use a clean wash rag and warm water and that's it (sometimes cold water if I can't wake up).

Occassionally I do use the Mary Kay cleanser. I will probably have to pay some day for my lack of skin care but I've never had much of a "skin" problem.

Hey girl! I'm loving anything Aveda these days. Basically it weirds me out that makeup and cleanser is made with animal by-products (fat), for instance mascara is made from bat poop...so I love their plant-based stuff.

I'm a Clinique girl. I see the best results at least with it.
Enter me, please! Great giveaway!

Hi! It's me, Julie! said...

H,
Don't be offended, but I can't enter the contest because my face is so SENSITIVE that I don't try new things very often. I've been using Dove Sensitive Essentials for a few years and it's about the only thing that 1.)isn't breaking the bank, 2.) treats my skin like a friend! I do use Clinique moisturizer because 1.) I wait till I can buy a huge bottle and get a free gift, 2.) I figure a nice moisturizer balances out my cheap cleanser.
So there you have it, friend! My ones and twos of facial care

LavA!!! The thought of it makes my skin crack. You should send the gift to Ethel, poor thing.

I use Cetaphil, not interesting until you know... I um... I use it only on a full moon... in the rain, rain water only, yeah that's it.

Hi!!!!
I came over from Kelly's Korner!

One of my favorite things to use for my skin is my make up eye removed! Non-oily! I love it! When I get out of the shower I look like a raccoon with circles around my eyes! Thanks to my ALMAY Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover Liquid I look like a normal person again!

Thanks for a great giveaway!!!
